Magical summer vibes

Simply magical - that's summer in Vipiteno and the surrounding area in beautiful South Tyrol. Sounds like a cliché, we know. But it really is quite simply real. We love our homeland and the various opportunities for mountaineering, rafting, motorcycling, cycling or e-biking, golfing or chilling out that we find around the Bircher and we love being out in nature ourselves. And you?

Hiking and mountaineering

Idyllic alpine landscapes, alpine huts and breathtaking natural monuments await you when hiking in Vipiteno, Ridanna and Val di Vizze.

For families: the Dolomieu trail leads from the mountain station at the Monte Cavallo via Ladurns from alpine pasture to alpine pasture to the end of the Fleres Valley. You can hike the entire route in approx. 7 hours, altitude difference 630 metres, some partial routes are possible.

For nature lovers: the wildly romantic Gilfenklamm gorge makes the elemental force of water tangible for all the senses. Ideal for a family outing to cool off on hot summer days.

For romantics: Lake Puntleider See is a secluded mountain lake above the little village of Le Cave. The ascent is quite steep, but the view of the natural lake makes up for all the effort ‒ a highlight and must-do on your hiking holiday.

For alpinists: the Rifugio Bicchiere (“Becherhaus”), the highest mountain hut in South Tyrol, is located on a rocky spur at 3,195 metres above sea level, and the path to it is a real challenge. Or maybe you prefer traversing the Alps on foot on the Munich - Venice long distance hiking trail?

Cycling

E-biking around Sterzing, uphill on a mountain bike or leisurely along the cycle paths ‒ in Vipiteno, cycling becomes an experience.

Munich - Venice cycle route: The "münchen venezia" long-distance cycle route is the most spectacular crossing of the Alps by bike and is the only cycle route in the world to pass three Olympic venues.

Bike route through the Isarco Valley: The well-signposted Brennero-Bolzano cycling route leads through the entire Isarco Valley, and the individual sections are also very attractive. The sophisticated South Tyrolean valley cycle path network also leads into the Pusteria Valley or further through the Adige Valley, the Venosta Valley and various side valleys.

Challenging Alpine passes: The nearby Giovo/Jaufen and Pennes passes are a real challenge for all cyclists and are often the scene of spectacular bike races. Here you can emulate the cycling pros and put your fitness to the test.

Alpine trails: There are also numerous high-altitude tours and rewarding descents off the beaten track around Vipiteno and the surrounding area. The routes for crossing the Alps by mountain bike also run here, a highlight for all ambitious bikers.

Motorbiking

On a motorbike through South Tyrol and over the most popular Alpine passes

Vipiteno is an excellent starting point for a variety of special Alpine motorbike tours. Whether over the Passo Pennes into the Val Sarentino, over the Passo Giovo through the Passiria Valley to Merano, into neighbouring Austria over the Brennero Pass, or a tour of the Dolomites ‒ enjoy a hearty breakfast at moidl’s in the morning before setting off at a somewhat different angle, in the seat of your motorbike.

By the way: A day trip to Lake Garda is also possible from our apartments.

Rafting

If you're looking for an absolute thrill, then you've come to the right place in the waters of Sterzing. Water, fun and action are the order of the day on rafting tours. Highly trained guides guarantee you an extraordinary nature experience with the greatest possible safety. The tours can also be booked individually. A tour on the Eisack with a transfer back in a minibus is a holiday experience you won't soon forget.

Golf

test

The Vipiteno Golf Club is located in the Sterzing valley basin, flanked by the medieval castles of Castel Tasso and Castel Pietra. With its large driving range and 7 practice holes, the Sterzing Golf Club offers ideal conditions for beginners and advanced players. The fairways are predominantly flat and the greens are defended by many water hazards. The course is therefore ideal for improving your short game.

The 250 metre long and wide driving range invites you to practise your long shots.

If you don't have any experience yet, you are welcome to drop by for a golf taster course.

By the way: We are now a Premium Partner Hotel of the Sterzing/Vipiteno Golf Club. As our guest, you can use the golf practice facility and the golf course free of charge every day. You can also hire equipment (golf bags with clubs for right and left-handers, trolley) free of charge. The season starts in mid-April (depending on the weather) and runs until the end of October.
