In the footsteps of the miners in the Ridanna Monteneve mine
In the footsteps of the miners in the Ridanna Monteneve mine
The Mining Museum of Monteneve/Schneeberg offers an insight into the life of the miners who worked here for over 800 years extracting ore. Work only ceased here in the 1980s and the mine complex is still fully preserved. Visitors, young and old, can discover tools from different eras and try their hand at the hardest mining work. Part of the exhibition is also dedicated to the Tyrolean giantess Maria Fassnauer, who was the tallest woman in the world at the beginning of the 20th century and toured Europe. The Mining Museum in Ridanna is open from the beginning of April to the beginning of November.
