Bircher - a feel-good holiday
Our spacious holiday flats are a place of peace and relaxation with countless possibilities for all kinds of activities.
Furnished with natural materials, local woods and the South Tyrolean way of life, we have created a place
that is both a central starting point and a place of retreat.
Our concept:
just as we would like it to be on holiday!
A small structure, comfortable and spacious rooms, family-run and with all the freedom to holiday as the mood takes you.
Our story
Our story
In 2013, we took over this historic residence with 600 years of history with the desire to create a special place where tradition and warmth come together. This is how ‘moidls lokäischn’ was created on the ground floor, a small, cosy daytime café with regional delicacies.
We have carefully reduced the number of beds from 70 to 40 to give our guests more space and peace and quiet.
Sustainability is a matter close to our hearts - most of our electricity comes from our own photovoltaic system and we heat with wood from local forests. Raw materials and food from the immediate vicinity are a matter of course for us.
Animation? Our surroundings, the fresh air, the unspoilt nature - all this should be your personal entertainer.
We don't have fixed times, but plenty of space for quality time with your loved ones. We put you as a guest at the centre of everything we do and are there for you personally - with a lot of heart and our best insider tips for your stay.
We can hardly wait to meet you in person and show you our place, our home.

Historic Guesthouse
Historic Guesthouse
Where the Historic Guesthouse Bircher stands today, there was a medieval tower built by the lords of Trens in the 12th century. The tower later gave way to a manor house called Eppurg, which was first mentioned in a document in 1449. The mighty stone walls, the old vaults and wooden ceilings still bear witness to the wealth of the builders. The Eppurg has been run as an inn (Gasthaus zur Birke) since 1829 and has been owned by our family since 1925.
Having been brought up to new standards again and again over many generations, in 2017 it was our turn to carefully renovate this historic building.
Our vision: to turn the three-star hotel in need of renovation into an exclusive residence with 16 holiday flats.
We did it and now it is our favourite place to work, live and stay with our children.
Holidays in pleasant ambiance
Holidays in pleasant ambiance
The design requirements were high - the elegant and stylish holiday flats in the Bircher had to be both contemporary and cosy. The raw materials? Local and sustainable, and clearly natural! So nature became the central element in the holiday flats. We were particularly fond of the birch tree, which also gave the flats their name. The fascinating look of the white trunks and the fine grain of the wood provided inspiration, and so this element can already be found in the entrance area. Arrive, put your feet up, relax and feel good is our motto.
